Variable font problems (desktop version)

Problem description
Variable font problems:
– selecting anything with variable font controls results in substitute font
– weird variable fonts among weights ( [144pt-126.450 Light] , [9pt SemiBold-620.000] )

• OS: macOS 12.7.2 (21G1974)
• Program used: Adobe Indesign v 19.2
• Fonts: v1

Additional context
I use a lot of variable fonts successfully in Adobe Indesign and they work perfectly, so I would exclude that is a software bug.

Still an issue as of today. In InDesign v20.4 on Mac OS 15.5 .Is there any insight on when this is gonna be fixed?
Also, setting the Optical Size of the font does break being able to save and undo/redo documents in InDesign which leads to loss of progress due to having to close the file without saving and reopening it to get it working again. I will reach out to Adobe whith this problem as well.
