How to filter out compilations? #355

It looks like you're referring mostly to the Commodore 64 (PP) DAT file. The "compilation" in question was sold as a box with a series of individual games on their own physical disks -- so as far as the DAT file is concerned they're effectively clones of individual games. While some titles are picked up by Retool as being the same game through inference due to standardized naming patterns, Commodore 64 (PP) doesn't have its own clone list, which is needed to detect changes where the names are too different from one another to match together or to effectively prioritize a title. Out of an abundance of safety, unexpected arbitrary tags like (Power Hits Compilation) are ignored, because there's no way to determine programmatically which version of a title should take precedence, even though the base names are the same. Typically things like budget editions and compilations are assumed to come later than the original release, and therefore could have updated code. Because of this, they're often given priority over the original release instead of the other way around. If you're interested in creating Commodore clone lists, contributions are welcome. Having said that, this tag is easy enough to add into ...and now I realize I've never properly documented |

I have two files. One of them is from a compilation but it is the same game. Is there an option to skip compilations?
For instance: "Game RPG (USA, Europe)" and "Game RPG (USA, Europe) (Power Hits Compilation)" and I want to keep the non-compilation.
Under Exclusions I have everything except Games checked. I thought about entering (Power Hits Compilation) in the Overrides Exclude section but thought that may remove something I want to keep if that compilation is the only version that I have.
Is there an option for this that I may be missing? I could do a system override just for this dat, I guess.
Thanks for any suggestions.
