What should we update?

Please add TP-Link Kasa and Tapo devices to the shame list.

Many threads show that after a version update, their devices have authentication problems, breaking the previously working connections.

Also seems that TP-Link so far has declined to support (or reverting their blocking changes) JurajNyiri/HomeAssistant-Tapo-Control#551 (comment)

There is a new update from tplink on this one.

In December 13th they are planning a release that will allow it to work again, locally.
I'd hold this issue opened until it gets released and we have the confirmation.

Thanks for the info - I don't have any TP-Link devices so I haven't kept up.

Yes, I confirm. They worked in collab with the Home Assistant custom component developer.
They didn't want him to share code that connects to their cloud (for "security reasons") so they developed a new local-only protocol. It works great.
In the app, there is a toggle to enable it.

I can confirm it too.

I have 4 different cameras, all working well and local now with the official support from TP-Link.

What version of the HA component supports the new local protocol? I want to include how to update when I move this to the reformed section.
