Global variable not available in 3.0 RC1

I have checked the following:

• I have searched existing issues and found nothing related to my issue.

This bug is:

• making Bruno unusable for me
• slowing me down but I'm able to continue working
• annoying
• this feature was working in a previous version but is broken in the current release.

MacOS 26.1

Describe the bug

I installed 3.0 RC1 after using 2.15.1 I went to update a global variable that I had set up in version 2.X. When I went to update the global variable my only options were to create a new variable or import variables. I only had 2 global variables so recreating them was not much of an issue.

@WillHoffmanFS Thanks for reporting this. We’re currently looking into it. Could you also let us know whether have you used a development build to test this feature? Additionally, when you mention a “global variable,” do you mean a global environment variable?

Confirming, global environments configuration file is cleared after installing v3.0.x. Importing the previous configuration as JSON yields an error:

BrunoError: Failed to process global-environments.json: Error processing global-environments.json: Invalid environment: missing or invalid variables array

@cduriau Could you please confirm whether you are able to see the global environments in the app on the workspace’s homepage?

I do see the global environments in the app on the workspace’s homepage. Now that I have set up the Global variables in version 3.X I can see them each time I launch the application.
I only had an issue the first time I upgraded from 2.15.1 to 3.0.0-RC1

By Global variable I meant the variable that was set under Global Session named Global:

After fixing the global environment configuration file, yes the app loads it correctly on start consistently afterwards. The issue was when opening 3.0.x for the first time (error posted above).

It was a problem during migration between 2.15 - RC1 and was fixed for 2.15 -> 3.0 Release, unfortunately the people on RC1 had to go through the pain of recreating their global variables, shouldn't be an issue anymore

As far as I know this was only an issue going from 2.X to 3.x. I created my global variables in 3.X and no longer have a problem.
