Problem Statement

Currently, the dashboard does not provide a quick overview of tasks assigned to the logged-in user. Users have to navigate to the Projects page and manually drill down into projects to see what they need to work on. This makes it harder to quickly understand daily priorities and reduces the usefulness of the dashboard as a starting point.

Proposed Solution

Replace or enhance the dashboard with a "My ToDos" section that aggregates all tasks assigned to the currently logged-in user across all projects.
This view should act as a quick overview of personal responsibilities, allowing users to immediately see what they need to work on without navigating through individual projects.

Alternative Solutions

  • Keep the existing dashboard and add a dedicated "My ToDos" widget or panel.
  • Add a filter or shortcut on the Projects page that shows only tasks assigned to the current user.
  • Allow users to customize the dashboard and optionally enable a "My ToDos" view.

Relevant Context

This feature would improve daily workflow by making the dashboard a true landing page focused on actionable items.
Similar project management tools prioritize a personal task overview to help users stay focused and productive.

Does this feature align with Kaneo's focus on simplicity?

Yes, because it reduces navigation friction and surfaces only the most relevant information for the user—what they need to work on right now—without adding complexity.
