Disable context syntax (markdown shortcuts)

I have searched the discussions & issues. I did find something similar, so I am not sure if I misunderstood or if it isn't working correctly...

May be easier for three questions:

1. Can you disable all Content Syntax / markdown shortcuts?
2. Can you disable certain/some Content Syntax / markdown shortcuts? ie. LaTeX
3. I have tried 'Disable Markdown shortcuts in editor' disabled and enabled, both are still changing my text format for paragraphs that include $

I just want to have sentences that include money, see this sentence:

He would receive $30k after the job. However, he received $5k instead. So he still owes him $75k.
