utmctl pops up UTM UI every time

I have UTM 4.6.5 on Sequoia 15.4 and every time I invoke a command using utmctl (e.g., utmctl list) the focus from my terminal is removed and UTM UI is popped open and brought to the front. Is this the intended behavior and are there ways to disable this? Even if I move UTM UI to another desktop it still gets the focus and as you can guess its quite disruptive to the workflow.
