box shadow looks suboptimal for circles

The shadow for boxes with high radii looks strange:

Recently Qt introduced https://www.qt.io/blog/rectangularshadow-fast-rectangle-shadows-in-qt-6.9.

Looks like its shader takes the same approach as what is implemented in our boxshadow fragment shader. If true we could simply make use of it.
