Conditional breakpoint is hit unexpectedly

Given this code

    auto us = u"ciao"; (void)us;
    std::cout << "uffa" << std::endl;
    us = u"uffa";
    std::cout << "uffa" << std::endl; // why does it stop here?
}

if I set a conditional breakpoint on the line with the comment with {"condition": "us == u\"ciao\""} and run, the program will break on that breakpoint, unexpectedly, though.

I would guess it's because evaluation of the condition raises an exception.

Can you explain more, please?

If evaluation of the condition expression fails due to some error (syntax errors, any Python interpreter errors, etc) this will be treated as "do stop".
