How to change consoleMode to evaluate?

Well, according to the docs, I have to set "lldb.consoleMode" to "evaluate", but where do I put this setting? I found a discussion with a similar issue, which says such setting should go into "workspace or user settings", but what file is that referring to?

To be clear, I'm not using VSCode, and I've set already some lldb settings, such as "expressions" and "showDisassembly", which work fine, but setting "consoleMode" in the exact same manner has no effect.

This refers to VSCode settings.

"expressions" is actually a launch configuration setting (though it can also be set via config as "lldb.launch.expressions"), however both "showDisassembly" and "consoleMode" are indeed configuration settings, so if one works, the other should work too.

Hey! Thanks for the tips! I've just tried changing my showDisassembly and, as it turns out, it had no effect :(
So I've never been able to change the configuration settings, I don't remember why I thought showDisassembly was working...

I've also tried messing around with a settings.json file, but with no luck. However, this got me thinking: could you support a separate configuration file, as it's so common with many Linux programs? Something like a XDG_CONFIG_DIR/vscode-lldb/config.

The debug adapter does not read settings.json directly, it relies on VSCode extension to compose settings from all hierarchy levels (global to folder-level) and add into the launch configuration that gets sent to the adapter.
