[Bug] Waypoint populated on reopening the left side panel

Waypoint automatically get added on closing and opening the left side panel

Steps to reproduce -

1. Add three waypoint
2. Close the sidebar
3. Open the sidebar ( you will see a waypoint added ) repeat this you can see multiple waypoints on the left side panel of the direction tab.

Hi, I was able to reproduce this issue.
Steps I followed:

1. Added three waypoints in the directions panel
2. Closed the left sidebar
3. Reopened the sidebar
   Observed behavior:
   A new waypoint gets automatically added each time the sidebar is reopened. Repeating the process results in multiple unintended waypoints appearing in the directions panel.

I would like to investigate the root cause and submit a fix for this issue.
