ExplorerPatcher crashes explorer when clicking Start Menu or Windows key due to Windows update KB5023778

This recent Windows update now causes ExplorerPatcher to crash windows explorer when clicking the Start Menu or Windows key, due to the addition of Microsoft accounts to the Start Menu.

4/2/2023 - 2023-03 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5023778)

"New! This update introduces notifications for Microsoft accounts in the Start menu. This is only available to a small audience right now. It will deploy more broadly in the coming months. Some devices might notice different visual treatments as we gather feedback."
