not sure what settings in the "taskbar" tab are exactly doing anything, or are even supposed to be doing something

so, i installed the app, then ran it, and it opens to the "taskbar tab, which is where the weirdness starts. so, hide/show taskbar/search have toggles, fair enough, but whats weird, is what happens if i click around the "combine taskbar buttons" text... please, before anyone calls me stupid, listen FULLY to what happened when i did so, and take note that i'm new to this program...

if i click(idk why i did, but i did) "combine taskbar icons on primary taskbar", it does nothing. if i click below that text somewhere, it goes from "don't combine(default)"(or some such), to "Always combine". same goes for secondary taskbar... why all this is confusing to me is this; when it says "(default)" it implies there are other selections to choose from, yet there's no visible selection box, and yes, i've tried both light and dark modes in system settings thinking it might be some kind of dark mode incompatibility, but no, it looks exactly the same and most if not all options that say "(default)" can't be changed, at least by a visibly apparent way...

so, i guess the main question is, ARE those changeable settings,(running win11) or am i missing something important that i'm not supposed to be missing? what am i doing wrong if anything?

as it says at the start, i'm new to this as i just found this while looking up information about an issue i was having with StartAllBack, and wanted to try it out, so that i could see what it does, and any information, like say a detailed usage guide for this app would be appreciated if you could point me towards such material, aside from trying to answer my question

nevermind... not sure what fixed it, but finally restarted the PC and it appears to be working, although i'm still seeing some options not change when changing settings, such as "file explorer control interface" which doesn't seem to do anything

maybe it just takes a few minutes to apply even the smallest settings? the file explorer control interface appears changed now.

maybe that's something to work on is application times? or maybe my crappy 2yo HP laptop is just slow-slow?
