I simply downloaded the latest ep_setup.exe file, ran it, and this time, it created the properties shortcut in my start menu, which I was able to pin to my start menu again. Settings remained unchanged as expected.

For anyone who comes across similar issue in the future, simply create a new shortcut with the following details and you should be good to go:

  • Target: C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe "C:\Program Files\ExplorerPatcher\ep_gui.dll",ZZGUI
  • Start in: C:\Windows\System32
  • Name: Properties (ExplorerPatcher)
  • Comment: ExplorerPatcher
  • Assign it an icon; default is shown below from the System32 shell32.dll file:
