EDIT: I'm dumb. I found it. Disregard. Right click, toolbars, new Toolbar. %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\ for anyone who's looking for the Quick Launch folder.
Extremely pleased with the quality of this software, it does almost everything I wanted, helping to ease my somewhat forced transition into Windows 11.
One of the things that always made me happy about every release of Windows from 7 onward was that with a few settings changes, you could keep a classic Windows taskbar layout. Small icons, labels, system tray, clock, etc.
You could even, by finding the right folder, restore the quick-launch shortcuts by adding a folder to the taskbar layout, which would display every file in that folder. I took this another step, and would add My Computer/This PC, and give my drives lettered icons so I could jump into any of my drives quickly.
Pinned apps does somewhat replicate this functionality, but they cause the order of the windows on the taskbar to not reflect the order you opened things, and most annoyingly when you're using small icons with text labels, causes any pinned apps to the right of one you opened to get pushed way off to the side.
I did notice there was a "lock the taskbar" option on the context menu for the taskbar, that was the functionality you needed to arrange the different folders and such. Maybe this is already on someone's mind?
I know it's a bit niche, but I'd really enjoy having the ability to add a folder again. It's a feature that goes all the way back to the 9x days, and I miss it. Depending on the difficulty of getting this to build, I may take a crack at it myself, but I thought I'd see if it grabs anyone's interest first.
