Oh dear. I'm sorry, but that's not what I meant. Please allow me to try again. I make backups of programs installed on my PCs. The setting for the Classic context menu is not stored in this registry key. I toggled the option several times and nothing changed in there. I also used process explorer but also could not tell what changed when I toggled the option. I make backups, reinstall Windows from scratch then I restore everything I backed up using a homegrown script. Problm is the setting for the classic context menu is not stored in that registry branch. So I asked where is it stored/how does it work, so that I can back it up and restore it each time so I don't have to go into properties and manually select it on every PC that is reinstalled. |

If you want to backup and restore settings for EP, open up the EP properties application and go to Settings and uninstall on the left side. From here you can export settings, import settings, restore settings, and uninstall EP. Is this what you're referring to? https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/wiki/All-features#disable-the-windows-11-context-menu If so, I would export settings with it disabled, and then export settings with it enabled. And compare the 2 reg files that get created. |

Sorry, I'm a little confused so please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place.
In the 24H2 issues you say "Further new-in-24H2 issues may be discussed in here, but please refrain from creating new individual issues for now." But the issue is closed. In the discussions you say "please don't post discussions, open an issue instead". Both of my posts are about Windows 11 24H2
Feature Request: I have been using a program called "OldNewExplorer" for several years, to get the classic drive grouping and the details pane back. You've got the drive grouping covered in EP. Would it be possible to add an option to show the details pane on the bottom? Then I can dump OldNewExplorer. (Not the Windows 11 details pane, this is one that was in Windows 7 and is a colored pane at the bottom of exach explorer Windows
Question re configuration: I never do inplace upgrades. When it's time to upgrade to a later CU I always do clean/fresh installs. I have a automation script I've written over the last several years that basically gets me to where I left off in 10 minutes. It also installs ExplorerPatcher.
But I can't seem to locate how the disable Windows 11 Immersive Context Menu is stored. I have to go into Properties and tick it after each install. Could you please tell me how this works so I can back up the setting and restore it after a new install. Looked in HKCU\Software\ExplorerPatcher, but when I toggled the setting I didn't see any registry value change.
