After 24H2 trouble => Open/Save dialog fixed by this app! 👍

I would like to than You very very much for this patch app!

It saved my PC from a complete reinstall.

What happened?

1. Win11 force installed in background 24H2 a 3 weeks ago. (tried to delay that, as much I could, but it installed it anyway during an another app update) 😡
2. I've delayed the reboot for weeks
3. after restart File Explorer did not open any more. No SAVE dialog windows, No Open dialogs, nothing.
4. Tried everything possible 3 days long what I've found, nothing helped.
5. Than I've found this.
6. Of course it wasn't easy to get it, because I could not SAVE the file downloaded from here.
7. Yes, I've also red the red warning, but I've thought:

• What can I loose?

8. Tried many setting, and probably thanks to "Shell extension" checkbox:

• Now I have (at least) a working Open + Save dialog ! 🏅

Even if it's not pretty, because It is very hard to read black text on dark gray background, but at least I can not Save and Open files from all the (40?) programs I'm working with.

(No, I will not change the "dark mode" of the system just to get more contrast. 😄 )

PS: I do not care, if the yellow File Explorer never opens ever again, because there is Multi Commander + also I've bought Total Commander a long time ago.

Those too are more than fine to handle files. Even better than the over-stocked slow "built-in" one.

But the absence of Open/Close dialogs can be a big trouble! Actually you can not realise how big, until you have to try to work without those.

Fun factor:

If I activate "console mode", and try to open Explorer from taskbar, this is printed:

When upgrading to windows 11 24h2, you are supposed to uninstall EP first. Then when the upgrade is finished, install the current release of EP.

You have completely misunderstood.

1. I've never installed this patcher before!
2. I've only found it AFTER windows self installed 24H2, and I've lost all functionality of default File explorer.
3. The patch fixed, what MS methods could not.
