Re-Order Windows **within** Group

Intro

Switched from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Windows 11 taskbar is pain and apparently 24H2 doesn't work with the traditional 7-Taskbar-Tweaker, bla bla bla.... So, I'm running your re-implementation of the Windows 10 taskbar. It is absolutely genius & a live-saver! Thank you very much. Tell me, if I can help or support you in any way.

Problem

When having used 7-Taskbar-Tweaker, there was an option to re-order Windows within a group, when each window has a separate column/row. This is the ONLY feature I am extremely missing from this re-implementation. Everything else is great, but I really need this feature, because I keep clicking the wrong window all the damn time, if they are not ordered the way I have them in my mind.

Solution

Check out what 7-Taskbar-Tweaker is doing to re-order the windows and apply the abstract to the re-implementation of the Windows 10 taskbar.

If I can help with the patch myself, I would gladly do it. I really need this to work.

it probably only works for the windows 11 taskbar. But try it with the EP implemented windows 10 taskbar too.

Having to wait for the thumbnail to appear before being able to move it is how 7+ taskbar tweaker worked.

Negative. I just right-clicked the item on the taskbar, within its group, then moved it. Done. It had nothing to do with thumbnails, back then.

Oh you have it set to not be combined? I'm referring to when it is combined and there is multiple thumbnails under a single application on the taskbar.

Yes, they are never combined, even back then. Back then, I could switch the non-combined ones on the taskbar. Now, only the workaround with Taskbar Thumbnail Reorder Mod works.

Then that mod must only work on the thumbnails then, not on the icons on the taskbar itself.
