Pinned items don't act as quick launch - windows are grouped with the QL icon

Ever since upgrading to 24H2, ExplorerPatcher doesn't work like it did before even though I have the most recent EP. I really hate MS.

Now 'Pinned items act as quick launch (don't group with active tab)' is broken; turning it on or off makes no change to the taskbar. Program windows are grouped with the QL icon

Are others having this issue?

Open up EP Properties application, go to taskbar, and set taskbar style to Windows 10 (ExplorerPatcher), not Windows 10. We no longer offer more support on the stock Windows 10 taskbar.

Thank you. I had tried all the setting combination before but didn't get the expected behavior.

Previously, clicking a Quick Launch icon resulted in the icon staying where it was, as it was. The program tile opened separately to the right in a different section of the taskbar. The QL icon and the program tile both showed on the taskbar.

Now, when clicked, the Quick Launch icon changes to the open program tile and replaces the QL icon where it is.

I preferred the old way but realize because MS removed the W10 taskbar, and EP is using the W11 takbar, that old functionality might not be possible. Am I right to believe this?

after creating a quick launch toolbar, and adding the icons to it by creating shortcuts in the folder the quick launch toolbar is for. When you open one of those items in the quick launch toolbar, it will open as a unpinned or pinned item on the regular part of the toolbar.
