seems to be a widows 11 issue but was asked to make a new bug

I'm confused on what to try with my EP, I have 2 systems. both had it partially running. The quick lunch is there but ES is not really running. Its half there. I'm ok on one PC because its half there. but on my other PC I had to refresh windows. Now windows put back the bar how it was.

I see EP no longer installs on windows 11. I never knew that, its been busted for a long time and I thought it was updating but its just half working.

I see there are version issue and tried removing and reinstalling the latest with admin right but no luck. Its not putting any files in c:\windows ( if that how it works ). I do not know enough about how this workes to manuall put the files in place.

I disabled the virus system, used admin rights, but no matter what I do, its like its blocked by windows. I coudl try safe mode but now I'm just guessing.

Looking for some help on what to try to make this work, windows 22H2
I didnt see what to include in my issue, so please just let me know.

Is it windows 11 22h2 or windows 10 22h2?

If it's windows 11 22h2, it is EOL according to this: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-11-22h2

If you are running windows 11 22h2 LTSC, it will be EOL in October 2025 according to this: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/windows-11-enterprise-and-education

If you didn't manually install windows 11 yourself, you are not running the LTSC version most likely, unless this is a work computer.

Please post your windows version by running winver. This way we can tell what your windows update status is.

Please check that you've added the exceptions to windows defender that are listed here before installing it: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/releases

If you have a third party antivirus installed, you must add the exceptions manually to it. They are listed on the above releases page on how to add them to windows defender.

If you tried disabling your antivirus, windows defender most likely enabled itself preventing you from installing it without the necessary exceptions being added.

For the system where it is working, if you enabled the option register as shell extension, disable it by opening up the EP properties application, go to File Explorer, and untick Register as shell extension.

I just needed to stopping defender was not enough, that maybe a nice splash screen to add to the install. The exception worked thx.
