Clicking the windows 10 weather widget does not show anything?

Describe the bug

1. Install ExplorerPatcher v26100.4946.69.6
2. Enable Windows 10 taskbar
3. I think that the problem occurs when going idle.

Expected outcome

I should see the weather

for the week.

My other properties are:

File Explorer > enable ‘Disable the Windows 11 context menu’
Start menu > enable ‘Disable the "Recommended" section'

Weather

• Layout > choose 'Temperature and description'
• Temperature unit > choose 'Fahrenheit'
• Display widget contents > choose 'On 2 lines, if possible'

For the first screen shot you showed, was it of it working before for you?

I would check that your dns is working by running in a command prompt or powershell: nslookup google.com

Then copy and paste the results here. It should resolve to an ip address.

Then try going through this guide: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/wiki/Weather

You'll enable dev mode, which will allow you to do troubleshooting.

Once you do that, check to see if anything shows briefly and then the dark screen is shown. I found out the reason it wasn't working for me was because google thought I was a bot. I found that out by installing OBS and doing a screen recording. Then played the video back frame by frame to see the error message shown to me.

Eventually I got the black screen again and right clicking that did nothing.

I have the same problem. I guess it's Google's fault. Recently, they've replaced the old Weather UI with AI stuff, and it broke our weather widget.

Google does provide a weather api. But you gotta pay to access it.

I noticed that even with WeatherDevMode, I cannot inspect anymore like I could that day that I created it so I think I just might delete this key. Might I request that in future updates there be options to choose either the old Weather UI or new.

The weather shown to you comes from google's website. Google decides what one to show you. EP can't decide which one to use.
