Negative value of vector_buffer_events

I see a negative value of vector_buffer_events metric. If went into negative after the conclusion of a test where the outbound connection to kafka using kafka sink was stopped to test buffering and buffer block setting. Once the connection was re-instated, vector lead logs from disk but the above metric went in negative.
What does a negative value of vector_buffer_events mean?

Hmm, that's weird. It seems like it could be a bug. You could look at the buffer_received_events_total and buffer_sent_events_total counters as well.
