vector top discrepancy between "metrics IN" and "metrics OUT" in datadog_metrics sink

Question

Here is a screenshot of a vector top command against a datadog_metrics sink.

How can we explain the discrepancy between the number of events received vs sent by this component given that there were no errors, and no events discarded.

The diff cannot be explained by the buffer size either. It is limited to 500 events (the default).

Hi @PGBI, datadog_metrics internally uses a partitioner which aggregates by metric type.
