Browser non playing issue

Script from website no longer seems to work fully since 86 got pushed. The videos will load but not actually play, probably a browser issue rather than widevine, know of a repository with the prior chro-brows version?

I followed the instruction to enabling Chromium on Raspberry Pi to play DRM protected streaming services, following the steps on https://blog.vpetkov.net/

I am not having much luck streaming any DRM protected media and am not capable to troubleshoot where things are going wrong. Does anyone have the time or experience to provide guidance on what my next steps should be to make libwidevinecdm0 operational?

@cralwalker This repo was the "work in progress" while I was putting this together, but (thankfully) the entire project was accepted by the Pi Foundation as a package (libwidevinecdm0)

All that's needed now is:

sudo apt update
sudo apt full-upgrade
sudo apt install libwidevinecdm0

This will setup everything for you.

Update: Once you have the package - you would see another instance of Chromium which is configured to use libwidevine.

At this point, I have not been on top of this any longer since the last version was "stable" and "it worked".
All of this was really just a POC to show that it's possible. I never expected that so many people would reach out with interest :)

Excellent. I am certain a lot of users are very appreciative being able to easily stream DRM content on the PIs.

In case I am the only one affected, as far as I know, last night I made a clean image Raspberry PI OS 64 bit installation.

I executed the three commands, rebooted and using the Media instance of Chromium tried accessing an Australian streaming service (https://iview.abc.net.au/) and a premium account of Spotify with no further progress.

Looking at the Chromium processes and the Raspberry PI processes I am not able to see libwidevine in execution. Are there other tell-tale signs or actions I can take to be more certain it is a local issue that I can fix?

Unless someone has updated the distribution - it will not work for a 64bit OS -- the libwidevine is pulled out of the Chromium project, and it's only 32bit compatible.
