My app stopped working

I'm not sure what I've done to it but now when I request the default page my console shows me something like:

[ wait ] starting the development server ...
[ info ] waiting on http://localhost:3000 ...

and the web browser hangs indefinitely. is there a --verbose or some other way of figuring out what the issue may be?
