Client side redirect to external page using next.config.js | client side rewrite with path matching

I have the following next.config.js file in my application. I want my application to handle the following two situations

1. The application should redirect to some external page like https://google.com
2. The application should allow some kind of rewrite/redirection to file path in next.js pages

folder structure

 |--- pages
    | --- [id] 
         |--- company

and the next.cofig.js file

module.exports = withSass({
  useFileSystemPublicRoutes: true,
  async redirects() {
    return [
      {
        source: '/',
        destination: 'https://google.com/',
      },
    ]
  },
  async rewrites() {
    return [
      {

        destination: ':slug/company/index',
      },
    ]
  },

});

But nothing seems to be working, can someone help me!. Thank you
