max-age for Incremental Static Regeneration

Is it possible to force a fresh copy of getStaticProps to be refetched at request time if the cached copy is some upper x age? I'm having some trouble with serving unpopular pages with revalidate times of 1 second but only receiving views once every 24 hours.
