Compiling Next.js Documentation into a CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 Licensed Resource (Book)

Hello Next.js Team and Community,

I am working as an Assistant Professor in Computer Engineering Department.

I'm planning to compile the Next.js documentation into a freely available PDF book.

My motivation stems from my experience teaching web development and the need for a structured, offline resource. A PDF format offers accessibility and portability, making it ideal for students and those who prefer offline reading. I intend to compile the existing content, focusing on clarity, organization, and ease of learning.

Here's how I plan to proceed, and I welcome your feedback:

• License: The compiled resource will be released under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
• Attribution: I will provide clear and prominent attribution to the Next.js team and Vercel, with direct links to the original documentation.
• Non-Commercial: This project is strictly non-commercial. The PDF book will be freely available and will not be used for any revenue generation.
• Clarity: I will explicitly state that this is a compilation of the official documentation and not an official publication.
• Updates: While PDFs are static, I'll aim to create updated versions periodically and clearly note the version date. I will also emphasize that users should always refer to the official online documentation for the most current information.
• Format: The resource will be a PDF book, properly formatted for easy reading.

My questions for the community:

• Are there specific sections of the documentation that would be particularly valuable in a PDF format?
• Do you have any suggestions for PDF formatting, such as table of contents, indexing, or cross-referencing, that would enhance the learning experience?
• Do you have any tools that you would recommend to convert markdown to PDF?
• Are there any concerns that anyone has?

I believe this project could be a valuable asset to the Next.js community, providing a convenient offline learning resource.
