Workaround

Enable Developer Mode in Windows:

Settings → System → Advanced Options → Developer Mode → On
This allows symlink creation without administrator privileges

Sorry about this! We did test the related change on Windows, but that might've been on a machine with Developer Mode enabled. I'm going to see if we can use junctions like pnpm does.

We believe this issue is fixed in Next 16.1.1. Please upgrade to that version, and file a new issue or discussion if you encounter any similar problems. Closing as duplicate of #86668.
