Issue when the node projects are encrypted using this kinds of tools

Hi, Im currently using the GUI tool Gnome Encfs manager, which also might have been written on top of this I guess. When I do it for nodejs based projects, Im unable to install any new modules. Whenever I try, I face the following error:
npm WARN tar EPERM: operation not permitted, futime
This error is really irritating.

There is little detail in your report, but I suspect that when you try to install a module, it runs as root, not the user that ran encfs. As mentioned in the man page, by default fuse blocks any access by other users, including root. As such, the problem you are facing is expected. You can avoid this by running encfs with the --public option, which will allow root to access the encfs mount.
