keys not working on macOS

i'm finding that the media buttons including

• KC_MPRV aka "Media Prev"
• KC_VOLD aka "Vol -"
• KC_VOLU aka "Vol +"
• KC_MNXT aka "Media Next"
• KC_MRWD aka "Prev Track macOS"
• KC_MFFD aka "Next Track macOS"
• KC_MSTP aka "Media Stop"
• KC_MPLY aka "Media Play"

do not work on macOS 15.7.2.

OTOH

• KC__VOLDOWN
• KC__VOLUP

work as expected.

How does one setup these media buttons on macOS?

i'll add that the following mouse keys are also not working:

• KC_MS_L aka "Mouse Left"
• KC_MS_D aka "Mouse Down"
• KC_MS_U aka "Mouse Up"
• KC_MS_R aka "Mouse Right"
