How to install vichan in subfolder?

Hello, I'm having trouble with installing vichan into a subfolder on my website.
e.g., example.com/board/

my instance-config.php file has the root set to "/board/" so i dont know why this doesn't work.

how do i install vichan into a subfolder? i don't want my website root to be vichan's root.
