Browse and create GPX Files

Thanks to all contributors for this excellent open software - greatly appreciated.

When one opens Avenue it has a single action "Open a GPX file"

Was thinking if a user wanted to browse an area and potentially create a GPX file - Avenue could be modified to allow for a "Browse map" function when opening or potentially make that the default action. Furthermore if one wanted to create a gpx file would that be aligned with the project mission?
