i came across the new vercel thing where they say you don't have to add another server for using fastapi it supports it directly is it true , i am trying it but it fails

So , vercel now treats fastapi with a proxy server so we don't require another server for python .

I was trying to do that but I was failing it was giving me random errors in build as it runs both uvicorn and next dev concurrently 

Most of the videos or tutorials I saw require booting up 2 servers for both next and python 

But in vercel template of fastapi + next js it says it does not require another server 

That's why I asked if it requires 2 servers because even vercel's own template was having 404 errors for python routes 

I actually tried myself again a few times  and it worked

Yeah, Vercel’s docs do say you can run everything on a single server, but only if you stick to their structure and patterns. It does work, but the catch is that on the free plan you’re limited by how many endpoints (serverless functions) you can have.

Most of the official templates or examples that go this route are super minimal — usually just a toy backend without a database.

In our case, since we wanted a more complete backend with extra features, we decided to split it out and deploy in two repos. You can totally try adapting our template to run on a single server, but to make it work on Vercel’s free tier you’d need to cut down a lot of endpoints and also reorganize the project to fit Vercel’s pretty strict structure.

Thank you for answering, I will try adapting . also any idea what is the limit for the free tier, like how many endpoints I can have ?

As I am not developing full fledged projects, just my degree projects or side projects

(Edit : got the answer it depends on me how heavy I write the functions but I will still try or push it , might learn to optimize projects for low end and add docker )

@Parth-12pm I don't know the value, you would need to check the documentation, there's a size limit in there to the lambdas.
