Zed 2i Stereolabs

In this document, you will find the first steps in the configuration of your device. All the steps are being executed on a computer with Windows 10 installed. Remember to read the requirements for your device.

Specifications

The recommended specifications to use the device connected to a computer are as follow:

Requirement Detail
Operative system Windows 10, Ubuntu 16.04, 18.04
Processor Quad-core 2,7GHz or faster
RAM 8 GB
Graphics driver NVIDIA GPU with Compute Capabilities >3.0 - Support CUDA
Graphics card NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1060 or higher
USB connector USB 3.0 port this is very important

Basic Install

  1. Download the latest Zed Camera SDK. Check which CUDA version is the recommended one. To date (05.2021) the latest version for the Zed Camera SDK is 3.5 and it is only compatible with CUDA 11.0 and no other versions, e.i. CUDA 11.02 won't work!
  1. Download your CUDA installation file according to the recommendation.
  1. Install the SDK per instructions of the installer. It will prompt a message if you don't have the adequate CUDA version installed. It will only lead you to their website, so you have to install CUDA manually!!
  1. Proceed to install CUDA. An NVIDIA window may ask you to update more drivers.
  1. Restart to computer to process the CUDA installation

Testing configuration

  1. Connect the USB C cable to the camera and make sure you have secured the screws. The camera might not be recognized by the computer if they are not tight enough.
  2. Connect the cable to the computer using a USB 3.0 port. To verify which port your computer has, search for Device Manager in your Windows applications and check the Universal Serial Bus Controller menu.
  3. Search in the computer the Zed Diagnostic tool
  4. Open the Diagnostic Tool
  5. Wait for the process to be finished
  6. If everything is fine, all boxes should be checked
