just came across this, looks great project, I've got a 6pin version as well, when I get a chance ill try and add MQQT support to it. also design a single pcb for it, (happy to send one to you) |

Visualapproach has done a great job, I have built the circuit and
programmed the esp, going to test it tommorw.
Also putting a PCB together for it. To make it look nice :). ( I will
upload the files )
Hopefully start mqtt next week ( I have 5p energy at night

@visualapproach really excellent work, thanks for sharing. I have all the required parts and will build and test within the next week. Also as an mqtt user any improvements will be much appreciated. When I read the code I realise I was very far from getting this working myself :) Is the nodemcu powered from the 5V line of the 6pin connector? |

@877dev Yes, it is powered via the 6 pin cable (5 V to Vin). I hesitated at first since I didn’t know if it would support the extra load. But it did :). At least in my case. First I used an Arduino nano + esp-01 and a dc-dc converter for the 3.3V side and a trafo for the Arduino. But it was really tempting to get rid of all the extra stuff so I tried. Also the step to an esp-12e meant that I only had to program one device which is neat. |

Thanks @visualapproach , I only got as far as analysing and decoding, other real life commitments get in the way :( can't wait to try this next weekend! I'd contribute mqtt and pcb design but for sure somebody else will beat me to it. Here’s the cables I got, confirmed working on Vegas 6pin model: Some description of how the code works would be most interesting, it’s way way beyond what I could create but I like to at least be able to read the code 😂 |

@JoelMSawyer Yes and no... Also I've found that if the web UI is loading for a few seconds the pump stops and starts which can be annoying. Was easy enough to implement but its not a perfect science I dont think. Keen to hear other's experiences |

@kiplin1995 I changed the pinouts to match my PCB. Just change them back if you like. I don't think there is something super exiting about the latest version right now, but just so you know. |

Thanks for the report. It's tricky on this pump because there will be a fight between who is controlling the pump. We can't tell what target temp in the display is set at. It is internal to the display, and we cannot tell the display what it should be. Other than pushing its buttons. So we just feed it data to shut up whilst the ESP is in charge. And the ESP never sends an actual "target temp" to anything. It just turns the heater on or off depending in its reported temperature. Just like the display does. Regarding the suspected bug - Yeah I know how you're thinking. It's actually there on purpose to stop updating the slider whilst you try to slide it. The intention is to update it ONCE only. When loading the page. And then it's up to the user. However it isn't always working. The slider value upon refresh is 0 but the lowest it can show (by design) is 20. So there is surely improvements needed, but skipping the IF will likely cause problems when trying to change the slider value. |

Ah ok i see what you’re saying. Aside from that the issue I’m having now is that it seems to turn off sporadically. EDIT: not as bad as I initially thought, just the water in the pump and pipes was down to 14°, turned it back on and after a minute or two it had drawn water through from the tub and it’s at 33° but still odd that it had turned off in the last few hours and temp is dropping |

I’m really hoping that’s the case. I took the board out and supplied it with 5v on the bench and all seemed well. So assuming it’s the made up plugs I’ve got between the board and pump. |

Ok, it's kind of working now: I changed the dsptx back to its original pin and edited the file according to each pin. It now shows the temperature and I can control it with the toggle "Take Control" turned on. I don't know if it's supposed to be like this, but on the display the buttons aren't in sync, for example: I turn on "take control" and "Bubbles", and the pump turns on bubbles, but the display still doesn't turn on the bubbles button. Another weird thing (I timed it) is that after 6 minutes the E13 error decides to appear. Other than that it's working fine. How can I resolve those two issues? |

Ok, the part of the buttons being out of sync is fine for me. What I already tried to do to resolve the issue was putting all of the "goodies" inside a different enclosure, that lets the air flow, so the ESP doesn't overheat, because I notice it was getting kind of warm. This unfortunately didn't work, since when I plug it in, after a few minutes (seems to be random) it disconnects. Is it worth buying a JST-SM Housing Connector to make sure that the connection isn't bad? |

I haven't regret buying the connectors. Pretty cheap and it is more robust. Can't promise they will solve your problem but it won't hurt either. |

Don't know. The script is running on your browser, not on the ESP. The ESP just sends the file to the browser. |

Hm. The startup of the pump is also slow. Run in a few seconds - now takes up to 5 minutes.

Help a noob out here - i have tried in both VSCode and Arduino IDE to get this runnin gon my nodemcu, but cant get it to work. Upload the program, all fine. Upload the data - no errors. Serial monitor shows its booted, and give the Ip of the nodemcu. then jsut put a . on teh screen, every second or so........ I can see the wifi on my iphone, connect to it - iphone gets ip address. Open safari on iphone, and go to 192.168.4.1 and jsut sits tehre for ages, but never loads a page. tring to use the master - 6wire version (without mqtt) cant get on any of the 'web pages' - so cant actually set the thing up. What have i done wrong (note, only powering the device from the usb) |

so jsut tried it from an android phone - and get the same thing, connects to teh AutoPortal wifi fine - then says theres no internet connection - and you press yes to stay connected, then nothing. so open chrome, and browse to 192.168.4.1 and nothing loads (not even a 404 page not found) |

WiFi manager library wasn't working in non blocking mode. Reverted back to blocking auto portal. Try development branch again and it will most likely work. |

Maybe you shouldn't have resistors on 5V and GND. Remove them and try again. (Pin 1 and 2 if I remember correctly but check it out in the docs) |

Can now confirm that the 560 Ohm reistors fixed the flickefing and also the buttons work now. Automation together with NodeRed also works like a charm. Thanks again @visualapproach for creating and maintaining this project. |

It did not work, I bought the jaccuzi two years ago so I tried PRE2021 and MIAMI2021 and I even bought a new Node mcu but no change in functionality, no lights on the display only the temperature. I went over the wiring at least a dozen times and all is according to the documentation. Any help will be appreciated! |

Try the development version and look at startup on the pump. Does it show hello, IP and cycle through all LEDs? (And play a melody?) |

Hi, I have pcbv2b and pump 100101. Everything works except for the correct operation when I press the temperature change. Apart from that, everything else works. The temperature changes from under home assistant but when I set e.g. 34 it jumps several different temperatures and only then calms down to 34. What could be the problem? |

@JacekHA it is probably bad communications. Which in turn can be caused by corrosion, bad solder joints, bad cables, or just the pump vs the device just barely meeting each other's specs. |

So while I'm descaling I tried to set the automation queue to OFF
Looks like it is ready to go, then the item just disappears from the UI, no action on the pump, i.e. it does not turn off.
