ERROR when I do 3rd step from control panel install driver?

Hi I have run into an issue doing the install I have clicked on The that INF file from the x86 folder it showed that it was installed properly I had then tried to run the control panel and click Install Driver and when I click that I get the following error that I have put in as a screenshot How can I fix this air I am on Windows 11 24H2 On AMD processor

Yes, this error occurs when you don't install the imbushuo driver before clicking "Install Driver".

Can you try running DriverStoreExplorer and post the results here?

Hi, I had followed the steps that I saw in GitHub, which were to install the INF file first and then to try to open the control panel zip, which I downloaded in a different file, and then I opened that up, and then I clicked the install driver, and that's when I got the error

If you give me the order for a specific driver, if you give me the name of it I can look for it but I looked for that driver that you mentioned in the post before, and I did not see it the one that is in this image is the only new one that I saw

The procedure you followed is correct. Furthermore, the imbushuo driver appears to be correctly installed, according to DriverStoreExplorer.

The problem with the Control Panel is that this file doesn't exist:

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\amtptpdevice.inf_amd64_5de6239780ba286e\AmtPtpDeviceUsbUm.dll

Can you try using Windows Explorer to check if this file exists?

You seem to have installed a different version of the imbushuo driver than the one supported by my project (I guess an older version).

Could you uninstall the version you have on your system using DriverStoreExplorer and then install the latest version of the imbushuo driver, which is this one: https://github.com/imbushuo/mac-precision-touchpad/releases/download/2105-3979/Drivers-amd64-ReleaseMSSigned.zip ?

After doing this, the "Install Driver" button in the Control Panel should work.

Hmmm, this is really weird... Please try this: 1) Using DriverStoreExplorer, delete any version of the imbushuo driver eventually installed in the system (its name is amtptpdevice.inf). 2) Install the driver downloadable in this post: #13 (comment) (You'll need to run "certlm.msc" and import the certificate included in the zip file, as explained in the post. IMPORTANT: you don't need to click on "Install Driver" in the Control Panel, it should work right away) Vito

Is there any testing that I can do with the driver that gave me the code 10 To help you figure out what is going on with it? The older driver did work But it does seem to have problems with pinch to zoom sometimes

some questions:

1. By "older driver," which one do you mean? Where did you download it?

2. Have you tried installing the driver as explained in my previous message? (i.e. downloading the zip file and using certlm.msc)

3. To understand why the latest version of the imbushuo driver isn't installing, repeat the procedure and post this file here: c:\windows\INF\setupapi.dev.log

Is the one that I get the code 10 And I was asking if there was anything I could check for you they would help you to fix the error because when I downloaded the other one that you mentioned for me to download that I had to include the certificate with that look like to me that might have been an older driver I wasn't sure though It's just asking if there was anything I could do to help you troubleshoot why I would be getting the code 10 error with the driver without the certificate and I don't with the other one

So, you successfully installed the driver that requires the certificate. Am I correct? Does the Control Panel work?

Regarding diagnosing the Code 10, please post this file here: c:\windows\INF\setupapi.dev.log. This file should contain relevant information in order to understand the Code 10 problem.

Yes, I get it to work with the one that needed the certificate. I have attached the file that you requested. If you need me to do more testing to fix the code 10 error, I would be fine with that

The file you posted shows several attempts to install the driver that cause the Code 10 error, all from Device Manager.

That driver must be installed via the INF file, typically by right-clicking on it from Windows Explorer, which is the supported procedure.

I did those above steps as you said I right clicked on the INF file and then after I did that I brought up the control panel and then I clicked the install button and then after that I searched for USB\VID_05AC&PID_0324&MI_01\d I clicked to update the driver When I picked the driver that it says to use in the instructions and I clicked update that is when I got the code 10

But, in this procedure (which is correct) you had an error when clicking on "Install Driver" in the Control Panel, right?
