Not .md files

I'm in the content folder that novelWriter creates per project and its just .nwd files not what Ithe .md files like I expected? Does it not create .md files for projects? I can open them in textedit and read them just fine. I'm just curious why they're not being saved as .md files?

novelWriter is not Markdown, so no Markdown files. It can build manuscripts into markdown though.

So if I export a manuscript from novelWriter I could open it in say Obsidian and export it out of Obsidian via the Pandoc Plugin? That was my planned workflow, I'm still testing steps.

The manuscript tool supports a bunch of formats. HTML may be better suited for Pandoc since it supports proper rich text formatting, but it can also output standard and extended markdown. If you use formatting that cannot be represented in markdown, it may be stripped from the text, or the formatting may simply not work depending on the software you load it in. (There are too many variations of markdown implementation with varying limitations.)
