Setting up promotion rules for those contributors who are consistently contributing to this project and promote them with the roles based on the open and clear rules.
Overview
Promotions occur after each release cycle (2-3 month intervals) based on sustained contributions and community engagement.
Roles & Requirements
🔍 Reviewer (Triage Permission)
- Active contributions within 1 release cycle
- Commits and reviews in workgroups
- Must be nominated by a maintainer
💻 Committer (Write Permission)
- Sustained contributions across 2 consecutive releases
- Major feature development, refactoring, performance optimizations
- Technical leadership and mentoring
- Must be nominated by a maintainer + majority vote from maintainers
🛠️ Maintainer (Maintain Permission)
- Sustained contributions across 3 consecutive releases
- Long-term project commitment and leadership
- Drive major initiatives and shape project direction
- Must be nominated by a maintainer + unanimous approval from all maintainers
