Well, I don't mean to be rude or anything, but at this point it would be safer to look into other choices (or even other frameworks) with pro level support from specialized open source teams or big enterprises with more than enough manpower and resources to keep things running.

A patch now takes months to release, let alone minors and majors. My guess is that the next minor release, if released anytime soon, would contain only CSS variables, which has already been put up for a long time.

That being said, I totally understand the fact and the cost of running an OSS org and maintaining an OSS. All contributors have my respect.
