In terms of behavior, it requires the type of the variable passed to v-model to exactly match the type of the model prop. Under the hood, it additionally generates a $event => <variable> = $event function for type checking.

@KazariEX wow! Shouldn't that be the default? Are you saying that currently vue-tsc --noEmit doesn't type check v- model at all?

The default checking behavior for v-model is the same as for normal props. It allows update:modelValue event to emit nullish values.
