Custom SVG Icon

How can I add a custom SVG icon that will inherit the same color scheme applied when using any <v-icon>mdi-menu</v-icon> syntax.

I've read the docs, im not sure how many times but still fail to figure out how to get it working. https://vuetifyjs.com/en/features/icon-fonts/#using-custom-icons Could someone please assist in how to get this properly working?

I'm not clear on where to event save my svg. It says to make a src/plugins/vuetify.js file but that folder plugins does not exist anywhere so im not sure if the docs are relevant anymore.

Any advice would be great.
