There might interest to progress on Content Negotiation by Profile, in particular to upcoming Data Shapes working group.

The Internet Draft cited there hasn't been submitted to the IETF and hasn't been discussed there. I'd suggest engaging there as soon as possible (e.g., by circulating it on the appropriate e-mail lists and requesting an ALLDISPATCH slot). It would also be good to modify the language a bit -- the draft is not "edited by... the IETF".

That's indeed what the Working Draft is saying, but I believe that this information is outdated.
According to H. Van de Sompel's recollection:

March 2021: @larsgsvensson contacts IETF Dispatch to determine which IETF track would be most appropriate to put the Internet Draft on an IETF Standardization track. The response indicates that it would be the HTTPAPI WG. But there is very little interest in that WG, as illustrated by this response from Darrel Miller, co-chair of HTTPAPI WG. It seems that the Informational RFC track may need to be pursued.

Maybe interest from the HTTPAPI WG should be reassessed (almost 4 years later), but if the situation remains the same, there is interest in W3C to take over this work.
