Link to technique for Visible Controls not working; whole SC version out of date?

The version of the Understanding doc I was looking at for 3.2.7 Visible Controls in github hadn't been published yet to the editor's draft and the technique on that page 'Provide persistently visible controls’ link is not working. Is it possible something has been overlooked?

Anyway, there are a couple of funky things about the Visible controls understanding doc, one of which is the link isn't to a "Gxxx" technique, so I updated that.

I think the rest of it is there, but the headings aren't showing. That might be due to a lack of section elements, which I'll try tomorrow.

Hi, I want to ask about the status of this SC. I work with WCAG daily, my colleague mentioned this SC as we worked on one audit. I was surprised and checked and found it only in draft form: https://w3c.github.io/wcag/understanding/visible-controls.html

This SC was proposed for WCAG 2.2 but didn't make the final version. I'm not sure why that page is still visible, but it shouldn't be. By all means use it as a best practice, but it's not part of the current version of WCAG.

Oh wow, this must be lingering in the gh-pages branch; I suppose removals don't typically reach that. I'll take a look.

Actions taken:

• Created and merged Clean out unused Techniques and Understanding pages/images from gh-pages branch #4437, which cleans out files from GitHub Pages that had been renamed or removed in the source repository after their initial addition
• Created and merged Add draft banner to GH Pages and PR preview builds #4445 to make it clearer that w3c.github.io/wcag links are not the finalized published content
• Noted Visible Controls in the wiki as something to potentially revisit for WCAG 3

Closing this issue now, as the SC in question and all associated techniques were later removed in #2353.
