Is "No nested clauses" too hard to implement? #552

In the January 2026 WCAG 3 survey, @sydneycolemanforgoogle commented:
"No nested clauses - This is going to be incredibly challenging for parties to meet when they do not have dedicated writing resources or support, and does not seem like it adds significantly to understanding."
FYI, after the WCAG 3 survey closed, we changed "No nested clauses" from core to supplemental. We should reach out and see if this change helps resolve some of Sydney's concerns about this requirement.
It's also worth noting that free AI tools can already flag complex sentence structures. As WCAG 3 takes shape, it could encourage these tools to explicitly call out nested clauses and suggest ways to remove them.
