Add support for ARRL 10m

Per suggestion by Frank W4TG, add ARRL 10m as an MRCE supported contest.

• Contest Name: ARRL 10m
• Contest Rules: https://contests.arrl.org/ContestRules/10M-Rules.pdf
• Call History file name: https://n1mmwp.hamdocs.com/mmfiles/arrl10m_2025-001-txt/
• Exchange: W, VE and XE (including KH6 and AK) sends state or province. All other DX sends serial number.
• Scoring: 4 points per CW contact times total multipliers.
• Multipliers: Each state/province, each DXCC entity and each ITU region are multipliers.
• Note: Contest is bimodal, CW and SSB. MRCE would only simulate the CW portion.

I'm practicing for the upcoming ARRL 10M contest which uses state/province for K/VE/XE and serial number for DX. How hard would it be to add this contest to the list that we currently support? I currently use the SS contest to practice on the provinces but that doesn't include Mexico. And I use CQ WPX for serial number practice for the dx.

Funny he should ask... I've have been working on this contest over the past month. I just looked it up and noticed that it starts tomorrow. Anyway, I have posted a developer build here containing my work in progress. You can copy this to your desktop and copy in your latest MorseRunner.ini file.

The call history file is heavy on domestic calls. The will inject about 3% Maritime Mobile calls. It has some Mexico and Canada callsigns. I hope to build a better call history file containing those callsigns of actually submitted logs for this contest.

Let me know if you have any problems or feedback.

Mike, Thanks. That was a quick turn-around. Works well. Yes, we need more Mexican calls and DX in there. That will be a future effort. Do you get your call history from the ARRL submitted logs? Last year's logs should have plenty of DX. 73, Frank

I go the call history file from N1MM website. it is lacking DX and XE callsigns. This call history file seems to be used for several contests. In the past, Jim, @K6OK, helped to construct additional log information for IARU_HF contest by combining several public logs from different regions around the world. We probably need to do a similar thing for this contest as well.

For a given region (around the world), how diverse would you expect the call balance to be. If operating from US, what percentage DX would you expect? If operating from EU, what percentage US/XE/VE/AK/HI would you expect? Same with Asia? Just wondering if we should try to select from the call file a representative sampling of callsigns from the history file based on your entered callsign, perhaps by continent. for example, if operating in NA, then 3/4 of the calls in the simulation are from NA and the remaining 1/4 from other parts of the world. Just a thought to keep the simulation more realistic for a given user.

I haven't thought about this topic and will give it more thought later. I don't think you have to be too exact in the percentages since this is for practicing. My first approach would be to take a high scoring US station and a high scoring DX station from the ARRL received logs, e.g. KQ2M https://contests.arrl.org/showpubliclog.php?q=rnQFDjzfsvagcyZeubslwA and ZF5T https://contests.arrl.org/showpubliclog.php?q=2wvG87MSMFMvkujlDXsHH use those files. Of course, you could make one for EU, Japan, etc. too but right now there isn't a selection of which call history to use. Therefore, I'd worry less about the percentages and more about picking a representative log(s). - frank

Tnx for this build version.

As a DX station, how can I set the exchange to send a serial number instead of a state or province ?

Also, in the ARRL10M.txt file, I can't see any DX station callsign. How to add some, and make them send a (random) serial number ?

BTW, I was op. at FY5KE (Multi-single) for the past contest (around 4k QSO and 5.1 M pts). Our log will be available once adjudicated.

The 10m contest will use the user's callsign to determine what report they will send. The simulated states will use their callsign's entity to determine what signal they send.

I agree the call history file is lacking the DX stations (I got mine from N1MM+ downloads). Others have also suggested building a new call history file by pulling logs from several 100-QSO stations from different continents and merging them together.
