Describe the bug
When opening a markdown (.md) file located in a subfolder via the Project Explorer, the subfolder appears as a new separate entry at the top of the Explorer panel. This duplicate entry persists even after closing the markdown file preview, cluttering the folder structure and making navigation inconvenient.
To reproduce
- Open the Project Explorer
- Navigate to a subfolder
- Click on a .md file within that subfolder
- Close the markdown file preview
Expected behavior
The Project Explorer should maintain its original folder structure after opening and closing a file. No duplicate subfolder entry should appear.
