MapClick vs API determining a latitude and longitude's current conditions station

If I call MapClick with
https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=34.0313&lon=-118.7494
Which is the result of searching with zip code 90265
The current conditions come from station LCBC1 (LEO CARRILLO)
But if I call
https://api.weather.gov/points/34.0313,-118.7494
I get grid 137,47 and office LOX
So this call to get stations
https://api.weather.gov/gridpoints/LOX/137,47/stations?limit=500
Returns this list in order
TPGC1 (TOPANGA)
CEEC1 (CHEESEBORO)
LCBC1 (LEO CARRILLO)
KSMO (Santa Monica, Santa Monica Municipal Airport)
and so on.
The question is why does MapClick choose to display LCBC1 and not TPGC1?

LCBC1 is closer to the point forecast lat,lon 34.0313,-118.7494 being requested in forecast.weather.gov. The API lookup is using a grid box and not the exact lat,lon point so the result is slightly different.

Reasonable. It would be nice to have an API endpoint that matched MapClick for a given lat and long. Or just include "closestStation" in the points endpoint.
