Shopify supports the inclusion of FedCM in Interop 2026.

The Federated Credentials management feature enables merchants to offer one-tap sign-in experience for their storefronts. This unlocks improved personalization, cart retention across devices, and a host of other custom benefits implemented by merchants — e.g. personalized offers that replace sign-up-with-SMS prompts. Shopify allows merchants to use different identity providers and offers Sign-in-with-Shop, which allows buyers to reuse their established shop.app identity across storefronts and use accelerated checkout.

FedCM enables the buyer to see supported IDP and use it to complete sign-in without intrusive popups or top-frame redirects, while retaining strong privacy guarantees until the consent. We have been active supporters and contributors to the development of FedCM specification and UX; we are actively experimenting with it and supporting FedCM authentication flow in supporting browsers.

With this feature buyers get one-tap sign-in with strong privacy guarantees; merchants have improved sign-in and personalization rates, which allows them to deliver a better buyer experience. We are keen to see it available to all buyers.
