Last week, I worked heavily on the filtering infrastructure. The explorer is now using its own endpoints for filtering: This new filtering and pagination engine also updates the UI based on the selected filters. I’ve finished connecting the UI with the engine through the search bar. Try It Out!

While @lucilapastore has been working on the above, we've also been wokring on sharpening the current explorer. We've updated the About page to be unified in design. While we push for the fresh UI upgrade, we've continued to reach out to more teams for inclusion into the explorer. We also push for previously listed projects to update their own profiles as there are new developments. We're pushing for 700+ projects before our UI overhaul is ready. We've been working towards getting 1.5 up and running while adding and overhauling many of the current internals. We've added some minor updates to the current explorer as you can see in the picture below. A landing page that highlights projects that stand out as well as describing what the explorer's goal is. This is now live here. We've also just hit 700 projects! The privacy communtiy is actively adding, removing, updating privacy projects to help create a better view of the privacy ecosystem. Next, we're continuing the push for the new explorer UI, we're in the process of moving towards a visual scoring process that utilizes circle graphs to highlight a broad scoring system. This includes tooltips for users that want to dig deeper into the scoring. Also, users will be able to understand a more detailed score by clicking on a specific project page. This is live here |

A new week is upon us, our individual project pages are shaping up to better display project info.
There are still some optimizations and UI tweaks to update but we're getting closer to release of explorer 1.5! A few influential databases for us are L2BEAT, Ethproofs and Getting started with ETH. These resources were a helpful guide on deciding what new path we should consider when moving forward on the explorer designs. Over the past two weeks we've updated ecosystems for ~350 projects on the explorer. Newly Added entries this week
Hope you're enjoying this journey alongside Web3Privacy |

Over this past week, we've made UI edits including sizing of icons, shapes of buttons, addition of logos, scale of boxes. The hero section is currently getting a facelift with the addition of a search bar. We've also added external link verification, as a warning when users are going to an external site. You can see the most recent updates here.
We're also working on a one pager for the explorer's privacy scoring here. Follow along in Ddocs! Projects should be able to understand how the scoring works and what affects their privacy score. It should convery to projects that openness and transparency are important indicators to the public. Newly Added Entries this week:

We're not ready just yet, we're having data submission issues The fork we made of the old explorer Which is currently live here The reason we did this is because we want to connect the input form of the explorer (https://old-explorer-app.vercel.app/project/create ) to this database The new front end lives here And when you select 'add project' in the top right, you see it takes you to https://old-explorer-app.vercel.app/project/create , which is what we want, but when you go to publish a new project, we get an error, and the data doesnt submit We believe the issue is the new front end isnt properly connected to the explorer-data repo You can see how the original explorer flow works here: This works properly: https://explorer.web3privacy.info/project/create It might be helpful to compare old working repo( https://github.com/web3privacy/explorer-app ) with the new repo ( https://github.com/web3privacy/explorer-new-ui ) As an aside, our forum.web3privacy.info lives again, come visit here for more general discussion around the explorer Newly Added Entries since week of 03/09: Updated entries since week of 03/09: |

Our Web3Privacy Now Explorer is getting a facelift
We've begun a re-design on the explorer UI. Leading the re-design, @lucilapastore has begun mockups for the migration from Vue.js to Next.js. The rest of the tech stack will include Tailwind CSS and Framer Motion. The goal is to improve usability, aesthetics, and scalability while reusing the existing backend API. With the overhaul, we look to make data retrieval simpler for the user. The backend won't be modified. The public API remains open and GitHub-powered.
We'll introduce a new internal API route in Next.js that adds filtering, sorting, and pagination capabilities on top of the public JSON feed. This makes the frontend much lighter and faster. There won't be a need to load ALL projects at once.
The redesign also includes:
What we've accomplished thus far
You can view mockups of the card based project system here [1][2]. The new design will better highlight key information but will continue to include a detail page with expanded information.
There has been work done on the current API to make a filtering and paging engine to render the UI on the selected filters. Here is an example
You can follow along the new explorer developments here.
What we've been doing in the meantime
While the explorer transformation is under way, we've continued to develop the scope and reach of projects included within the explorer.

In closing
As we look to complete and ship the re-design, we'll add some more tools that'll sharpen the explorer experience for researchers, privacy advocates, and users trying to understand what's the best soltuion for them.
We've got much more coming to you from the explorer side, we'll keep you posted on our journey along the way!
